I'm Jean Carlo Dominguez, more notoriously known as Doodles. I'm 20. I had a pretty sweet neck beard once. I don't really care for bacon much. The Spanish-American War is my least favorite war for very personal reasons. I am not an important person. That was dumb. I am sorry about this.
A few days before New Years Eve 2013, Kit Fisto dropped by my house to record a song for an upcoming split between Tetra Records and Stack Your Roster, an independent label in Canada. During those few days, I decided to get a Tetra Talk in with them because its unbelievably rare that they are all in the same city, much less, house.
[From here on out I will be referring to Kit Fisto as a single entity.]
I asked the Kit Fisto if it wanted to have a few drinks before we started the interview and of course it said yes. Moments later, Kit Fisto is having a 45 minute goth dance party in my living room. It demanded that the couch was folded out into bed form for maximum comfort. The band misinterpreted roughly 90% of my questions and provided little to no insight about anything I asked. About halfway through, Kit Fisto decided it didn’t want to be interviewed any more and tried to leave and then had some sort of meltdown and the interview completely falls apart there. After sifting through about 2 hours of footage, this is what I could put together.
All jokes aside, I had a blast with these guys and I’m psyched for this new song. It’s classic KF that we all know and love but even better. Lon described it as “If Rush played a pool party”, which is extremely accurate. Kit Fisto will be releasing the currently untitled song in February as part of a split with Tetra Records’ Hit Home and two other bands from Stack Your Roster. I saw you standing there and well I, well I, I can’t be trusted. I’m lost without a reason. But I think I could love you if only you would stop staring at me when the sentences I make don’t turn out right. I cannot handle it. No. Don’t take it as an insult, I only wish you were staring at me when I roll over because I can’t sleep at night, or I’m smiling because there’s snow falling outside, or when the breaks lock and we’re clearly gone die. I’m gonna grab your arm and scream, “I love you!” I hope you know that I’ll love you.
